MERI Times

At MERI College, BA (Journalism and Mass Communication) students gain practical industry experience by producing the fortnightly newspaper Meri Times. Utilizing professional software such as Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress, students actively engage in the design, layout, and publication process. This hands-on training helps them master essential technical skills required in the media industry. By working on MERI Times, students not only learn to create visually compelling and well-structured layouts but also develop a strong understanding of journalistic standards and editorial workflows.

This initiative bridges the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application, allowing students to experience the demands and expectations of professional journalism. The exposure to industry-standard tools and practices significantly enhances their employability, preparing them for successful careers in print media, digital publishing, and related fields. Overall, the Meri Times project serves as a vital platform for experiential learning and creative expression in media production. Students prepare handwritten newspaper initially. After that they work on software.
